2. Do beeswax candles burn longer than any other candle?
Beeswax burns cleaner and longer than any other waxes.
3. Are there proper methods for burning beeswax candles?
One should always trim the wick to ¼" before each burn. Keeping lit candles away from drafts will also ensure your candle will burn most efficiently. When burning pillars, it is best to allow them to burn for about one hour per inch in diameter. Honeycomb candles should be handled at room temperature as they are fragile when exposed to extreme cold.
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
4. What type of wick do you use in your candle?
We use only 100% cotton wick.
5. Do you use any fragrance in your beeswax candles?
We do not compromise the natural sweet honey smell with any additives. Beeswax candle aroma does not compete with your dining experience. The natural fragrance of beeswax candles are often the solution for people who suffer from allergies related to scents carried in other candle products.
6. Does the glitter on the outer surface of the candles change the way the candle burns?
The glitter used at Lloyd Farms is a special blend that burns up in the wax pool without compromising the flame.
7. How are your candles made?
We proudly handcraft each of our pillar and taper candles with attention being paid to each item we send to you. We continue to use the timeless tradition of hand rolling each candle with a technique that ensures a long, even burn.
8. Are all your beeswax candles hand rolled?
The beeswax votives are a poured, solid candle. Since votives make a liquid pool of wax as the wick burns, the candle needs to be burned in a votive candle holder. Our beeswax tealights are poured into fire retardant polycarbonate cups that disperse an additional amount of light due to the transparency of the tealight cup.
9. Why does my beeswax candle form a whitish patina over time?
This is called "bloom". Bloom results when the softer oils rise to the surface. This is a guarantee that your candle is pure beeswax. If you wish, you may remove the bloom by using a hair dryer on a low setting to warm the candle surface.
10. What is your method of shipping?
Unless otherwise requested, we ship all of our candles via FedEx Ground Service. Shipping is added to your order at a flat rate of $10.00. If your order is over $100.00 we provide the shipping free of charge.
